Salt grows in cubes.
Put a grain of table salt under a lens and you’ll find a tiny cube. Sodium and chloride lock together in one simple pattern, repeated millions of times, and the result is hard enough to build with.
People have. The 13th-century fortress of Shali, in Egypt’s Siwa Oasis, was raised from kershef: chunks of lake salt and rock, plastered with clay.
That’s the idea behind our name. Simple structure, repeated carefully, until the whole thing holds. Salt also preserves, and so should software. We hand over code, tests and docs your team can keep running long after the project ends.
